Each one of you was assigned an element from the periodic table, which you are now going to research and become an expert on. Your task for today is to research/gather as much information about your element, which you'll then use to write a 1-2 page paper that describes your findings (Tuesday). You will also be responsible for creating a postcard-sized poster that displays your information (Wednesday). You will receive the requirements for the next 2 parts early next week.
Here are the questions you should answer today:
1. What's the name and meaning of the name of your element?
2. How/when was it discovered or created synthetically? By whom?
3. Where is it naturally found?
4. How and where do we use it?
5. What are some of its unique properties that allow us to use it in specific ways?
6. Number of protons, electrons and neutrons
7. What does it look like?
8. Is it harmful or poisonous?
9. At least 3 other interesting facts.
Here are some websites that you should start out with, then just go off and do your own search!
Ask if you have any questions, and make sure you are following computer lab rules.
